  • Mayacamas Volunteer Fire Foundation

The Mayacamas Volunteer Fire Foundation (MVFF) is focused on community engagement and fundraising. It is the organization chartered to keep our community safe, informed and connected. Through our FireSafe Council we secure grants to reduce fuel load/fire danger and educate our community on fire safety resources. MVFF was founded in 1980 as the Mayacamas Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD). The volunteer firefighters are the first responders for emergencies in an especially challenging area just to the east of Sonoma Valley.

  • The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) integrates fire protection, natural resource management, and fire prevention under a single mission on behalf of the State and local communities. CAL FIRE strives to ensure the highest level of environmental protection in all its operations.

  • Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office

The Sheriff’s Office coordinates evacuations in times of emergency. The Sheriff’s Office announces evacuation orders by zone number. Evacuation zones are pre-determined geographic areas that are used to efficiently evacuate residents during large-scale disasters.

  • Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E)

Communities across California face growing threats from the projected changes in the state’s climate. These risks include extreme weather events such as coastal and inland flooding, heat waves, wildfires, and more powerful storms, as well as slow onset stresses like sea level rise and rising average temperatures. PG&E’s Resilience Hubs grant program helps communities build a network of local resources that supports community resilience—such as access to power, shelter, and information—to climate-driven extreme weather events, including wildfires, as well as future Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events.
